North Tiverton Baptist Church supports only mission projects modeled after the template set forth in the New Testament. The main thrust of this pattern is the Great Commission of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-19). Local assemblies of believers send forth workers into the harvest. These "sent ones" stand in the gap and perform the work of the local church on the foreign mission field by evangelizing the lost through clear presentations of the Gospel. Once a nucleus of baptized believers is developed, they are organized into a local, autonomous Baptist church. Believers of the indigenous people are trained to lead this newborn church into spiritual growth and maturity. This is accomplished through the Biblical teaching of the church, Bible colleges and institutes where pastors and lay leaders are equipped to assume leadership roles. These new churches will in turn send and support missionaries, thereby propagating the Gospel from within.
